Florida #5 Stay back, I'll bite!

I don't know what type of snake this is and if he is poisonous or not, but I thought he was pretty scary.

I'm gone for the weekend with some of my photography friends. I pre posted some photos. Hope to make some great nature shots this weekend to show you next week!

Even at 300mm, you're braver than I am. All snakes are guilty until proven innocent.

@Mike Cash: The only reason why I had the courage to take the picture, was that I was in a convertible and was able to shoot this from the passenger seat. My friend got out of the car to have a good look and only after taking the photos I realised how close he was to the snake. No wonder it as getting angry. I’m glad nothing happened.

Nice shot. I'm not sure but I think this is what's called a cottonmouth or water moccasin, it's the only poisonous water snake in North America and they're pretty aggressive. @DTW: Thanks for the link. I looked it up and I think you are right, it's a Cottonmouth. Good that we did not know at that time how dangerous he was!

Not sure what kind he is, but he definitely looks venomous since he has the triangular shaped head typical of the ones that are venomous.

You did well to capture him. He almost looks like he's laughing. I hope you were at a fair distance. They are fast and have quite the strike range.

@Laurie: I can tell you I was save in the car. This is shot from the passenger seat from a convertible. My friend was standing next to the car and after taking the photos I realised how close he was, no wonder the snake was angry. I looked it up and it's a cottonmouth and he is poisonous!
