DTW from Orlando, United StatesThis shot is great! I like how the other horses are just kind of ignoring everything. Very nice job. 24 Mar 2007 5:12am @DTW: Yeh, I like that as well. Thanks for your compliment. Nikos from Salonica, GreeceGood shot Yvon.If you could isolate the two horses fighting,it would be spectacular..! 24 Mar 2007 3:18pm @Nikos: Well, I like the fact that the others are ignoring the incident completely. That way it gives a more complete view. Helen from Melbourne, AustraliaWow, I didn't realise horses fought like this! Well captured. 24 Mar 2007 7:50pm @Helen: Thanks. I didn't know either. Stephanie from Tuscaloosa, United StatesThe sky isn't too bright! Besides, with the action you have in the shot, I don't think anyone is paying attention that! This is great! 24 Mar 2007 9:19pm amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaI like the fact that the other horses are oblivious to what's going on. Very good capture! 24 Mar 2007 11:59pm George from Seattle, United StatesGreat shot! I think you are right about the sky. It is too bright-white. This is a common problem. In my chemical darkroom I burn in skies that are like this. I just bought photoshop, in part, to fix this very problem with my scans. Now I just have to learn to use it. BTW being self-critical is the path to good images. 25 Mar 2007 1:53am @George: The contrasts were killing that day. I'm not too good with photoshop, so I don't know how to adjust the sky. In the darkroom I think it is easier. Sarah from Gainesville, United StatesI really like this one, though I agree the sky is a bit bright. But still an excellent shot! 26 Mar 2007 1:30am @Sarah: The contrasts that day were horrible and this was the best I could do. Thanks for your nice comment. @Alfredo J. Martiz J.: Thanks Alfredo. I appreciate your comment. Leslie Horacek from Brussels, BelgiumGreat timing on this capture. Thanks for informing us about this place. I can't wait to go there myself! 26 Mar 2007 9:32am @Leslie Horacek: If you go there, makes sure you book a trip in advance, thats the best way to see the area. But, walking in the area you are very likely to see all the big animals yourself as well. How is your Dutch? For more information see www.oostvaardersplassen.nl George from Seattle, United StatesI left a message above about the white sky. I have weak computer skills and no photoshop experience, but with a cursory read of the burn in instructions with Photoshop Elements 5 was able to burn in a sky similar to this. I didn't do it well, but a closer read of the instructions should remedy that. I have never used a digital camera but when I'm in a contrast situation like this shooting B&W film I often underexpose a stop - film has good exposure latitude. Perhaps you could try that. Good luck! 27 Mar 2007 1:27am @George: Thanks, I will. |
